Peoplelink Group has matured from a regional commercial staffing firm to a national full-service staffing and consulting services company. It’s now the 38th-largest US staffing firm. CEO Jay Mattern said the firm has now reached the growth stage referred to by Mike Cleland and Barry Asin in their book Breaking Through as “strategic expansion.” Less than 1% of all staffing firms ever reach that level of growth. Mattern says the most difficult challenge the firm has had to overcome is moving beyond organic scale to this next phase of growth. He believes navigating the next phase requires a clear plan, complete agreement by the executive and leadership teams, and dedication to staying the course.
