Joe Madigan joined Nelson, the largest independent staffing company in California and the 104th largest in the US, 14 years ago as a branch manager and became CEO in January 2018. Under his leadership, the company has seen significant growth, with year-over-year growth of 16% in temp sales and 21% in net income. In addition, Madigan created the first company-wide philanthropic program, Nelson beCAUSE, which enables Nelson employees to support charitable causes in their communities. In 2018, the beCAUSE program granted more than $75,000 to local charities. Nelson was recognized as one of the top philanthropic companies in the Bay Area, ranking 18th out of 100 overall and fourth for the most giving per employee.
