Diversant CEO Gene Waddy began his staffing career in the early 1990s with Spherion in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. In 2005, he founded Diversant to connect clients with the right IT talent for their needs as well as to mentor small MBE suppliers. In 2017, Waddy launched his second business, Alpha Business Solutions, a certified minority-owned payroll/employer of record firm. He attributes Alpha’s explosive growth partly to the fact that “there has not been a viable African American male-owned [company] solely focused on the payroll space since ZeroChaos.” Waddy serves on the supplier diversity advisory board of Tapfin, among other affiliations.
