Harold “Max” Messmer, Jr.

Chairman and CEO Harold “Max” Messmer, Jr., led Robert Half from a $7 million franchisor in 1986 to the $4.7 billion global enterprise it is today, making it the world’s largest specialized staffing firm. An industry pioneer, Messmer has written several books, including multiple editions of Human Resources Kit For Dummies and Job Hunting For Dummies. In 2015, he was named to Fortune magazine’s annual list of business persons of the year. He was an SIA Peter Yessne Staffing Leadership Award recipient and is a member of the Bay Area Council’s Business Hall of Fame. Robert Half frequently appears on Fortune magazine’s list of World’s Most Admired Companies.
